Job Summary

The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) Engagements Engineer will drive the implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering at Raytheon. You will collaborate with the Raytheon Specialty Engineering solution development teams to implement Model-Based Engineering (MBE) capabilities and practices as part of the Raytheon standard Digital Engineering Environment. You come to Raytheon Technologies with a strong background in hardware product development combined with experience in MBE and MBSE.

During an engagement, you will lead or mentor junior systems engineers on direct programs, execute trade studies, develop prototypes, create metrics, and prepare and present technical information. You may also act as an MBSE trainer to support the broader adoption of MBSE at Raytheon. You may support engagements on new business activities such as proposal development and the development of reference architectures/designs as needed in support of solution deployment within Raytheon.

This is an onsite role based in McKinney, Texas. 

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Drive Systems Engineering processes on your engagements
  • Create and validate MBSE models including Stakeholder Needs/Requirements; Behavioral Diagrams; Structural Diagrams; Measures of effectiveness/technical performance measures
  • Support the development of connectivity between MBSE tools and other hardware design/analysis tools
  • Create specifications, interface descriptions, execute trade studies and analyses
  • Lead multiple tool and environment integrations
  • Develop and share best practices, mentor and train others

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical design and analysis tools
  • Experience with DOORS and DOORS Next Generation and requirements development and management
  • Experience with Cameo/MagicDraw/Teamwork Cloud and SysML modeling
  • Experience with MagicGrid methodology
  • Experience developing products in various product development lifecycles including agile and waterfall
  • Experience in integrating COTS solutions
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
  • Familiarity with Syndeia and/or Ansys ModelCenter
  • Familiarity with digital twin concepts
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) – Model User or Model Builder – Fundamental
  • INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts both up and down the management chain
  • Ability to work independently and ensure project goals are met
  • Ability to prepare and present status, plans, and risks to management
