Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to fill a leadership role on the Hardware Engineering Operations and Maintenance team. The program provides operational and maintenance support for a complex integrated hardware and software systems ground based communication system over a geographically diverse architecture including locations in several time zones around the world, overseeing planned and ad hoc hardware system engineering tasks on customized and special application systems including system analysis, testing and integration of new deliveries, and system deliveries and work-off. Leadership responsibilities also include program leadership of a multi-contractor team locally, and Raytheon personnel assigned to other work locations on contract.

The candidate will be responsible for participation in all Program Management (PM) driven regularly scheduled meetings and working groups as well as hosting and participation in hardware engineering program and corporate based working groups as requested.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Manage employees to include overall staffing, training, mentoring; providing guidance to employees and completion of requirements to include budgeting CLIN Management.
  • Responsible for the technical performance of personnel made up of various contractors working as a team.
  • Responsible for developing and managing the certification and training program and the documentation of all procedures.
  • Responsible for arranging off hour call in support in the event of a system failure or anomaly.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development of new creative and complex concepts that will provide value to the customer. 
  • Exert influence in the development of organizational goals at the program level in setting customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications: 

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must have previous technical experience with Receive Facility (RF) communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems.
  • Experience with customer built and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTs) based high speed networks, IT systems and real-time software applications supporting communication systems.
  • Leadership experience with engineering multi-contractor teams of at least 10 people
  • Experience and familiarity with Human Resources (HR) actions and hiring practices.
  • Proven stakeholders experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership and customers.
  • An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with existing custom subsystems with current qualifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with facility support systems for RF ground terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.).
  • Prior military electronics and or satellite communications training/experience
  • Security + certification
