Collins Aerospace is looking for a Principal Senior Systems Engineer - Scrum Master to lead the Software and Systems effort for real time embedded software for Surveillance Avionics Products, such as aircraft collision avoidance systems (ACAS), Transponders, and ADS-B In/Out Systems. The Scrum Master will lead the team through proper Agile practices within the overall program agile strategy. The Scrum Master will conduct full Scaled Agile processes for scrum team, including but not limited to iteration planning, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives to ensure high quality deliveries.  They will work with the team to maintain a healthy backlog of well written stories that are development ready and will work with the team to maintain effective story point estimation. In addition to their Scrum Master role, they will also assist engineers and Product Owners on systems and software related activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with other scrum teams in the ART and Product Management to create effective story point estimates
  • Communicate expectations and instill accountability in team members
  • Resolve conflicts, promote work sharing, and motivate teams toward common goals
  • Make timely and sound business decisions that support the business objectives
  • Manage multiple tasks, and resources through effective organization, priorities
  • Generate and maintain systems/software documentation for systems/software lifecycle artifacts.
  • Capable of producing engineering estimates for individual tasks. May contribute to Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Bid proposals.
  • Able to clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Agile Scrum Master certification or will get within 6 months of hiring
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, project management methodologies
  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Git or similar tools. Includes DEVOP experience.
  • Experience with C/C++, Python or similar languages.
  • Experience in systems engineering functions including large scale system integration, large Scale system test and verification
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to quickly come up to speed on technical and management efforts currently underway
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in DO-178B/C processes (or similar safety-critical software development guidelines) is preferred.
  • Experience working with teams across multi-geographical locations and multi-disciple is preferred.
