The Principal Specialist, Financial Planning and Analysis will be supporting the Collins Enterprise Operations Team. Primary responsibilities include execution of financial analysis, business case analysis, planning and forecasting to support Collins Operations goals and objectives. Candidate will be expected to provide recommendations to management based on analysis and findings, ensuring company compliance and profitability. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills and is detail oriented.

This position can be worked remotely from anywhere in the domestic U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Key business partner to Enterprise Quality, EH&S, Global Trade, REACH, and Ops HR VPs, leads, and teams.

  • Support month end close and forecast process including analysis of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.

  • Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in output, operations budgets, costs, headcount and other areas of business for financial and strategic planning purposes.

  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports to develop observations and recommendations. Consolidate budgets and present to executive leadership. 

  • Support Long Range Planning (LRP) and Annual Operating Planning (AOP) processes.

  • Oversees medium to large-scale projects. Builds analytical models to perform complex analyses.

  • Conduct projects working with colleagues at multiple levels in the organization and partnering with the Enterprise Operations organization

  • Create financial models of "what if" scenarios to help future business planning decisions.

  • Automate and improve processes by utilizing advanced tools in Excel, PowerPoint, and HFM (ad-hoc, smartview, and web based)

  • Spot problems and perform real-time resolution by deciding on correct course of action

  • Assist in the training, mentoring, and development of other Operations Financial Analysts.  Document processes and provide training.  Perform back-up duties for the team and leader as needed. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position 

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 5% of the time

  • 2+ years of prior finance experience

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited oversight and prioritize workload

  • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience consulting and presenting recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis

  • Familiarity with HFM, SAP, and other financial reporting tools

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Exposure to FP&A or Operations Finance

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
