Job Summary:
This is a great opportunity to join Raytheon as a Principal Specialist, Contracts who will be an integral part of success for this team and perform duties within the Domain Awareness & Precision Strike (DAPS) group in the Air Power (AP) Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
You will provide contracts administration and management support in key focus areas including proposals, negotiating, administering contract modifications, customer correspondence, interface with internal and external customers on contractual matters, flow down of contractual requirements to performing organizations.
This role calls for the candidate to provide trustworthy contract interpretation for the program team and functional partners. In your role you will have the opportunity to influence program and business performance and strategy.
This position is hybrid, offering a flexible work arrangement at our Woburn, MA location.
Responsibilities To Anticipate:
- Develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and interface with internal functional organizations (Finance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Pricing) in the daily administration and proposal process and work as a team to develop solutions to complex program and contractual issues.
- Collaborate across multiple functions to close out contract actions.
- Ability to grasp complex contractual situations and draft and submit contractual letters based on the scenario after receiving approval from Program Management.
- Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management and capture proposal teams of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
- Coordinate with Office of General Counsel, PMO, Finance and Contracts when needed on contract matters/interpretation.
- Responsible for compliance within the areas of contract set-up, deliverables, invoice tracking, cash collection, internal/external reporting and audits and closeouts.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Contracts regulatory policies experience with US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and /or the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Defense prime contracts experience
- Demonstrate expertise and understanding of various contract structures and an exemplary level of business acumen
- Understanding complex documents and ability to interpret requirements
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- Strong communicator both orally and in writing; robust analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations
- Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective and sustaining relationships with customers
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated desire and ability to quickly learn NCMA Certifications or similar
- Advanced Degrees
- Active current transferable DoD Secret Clearance
