Our Autonomy team is looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position and can be located in Fort Wayne, IN or McKinney, TX or Cedar Rapids, IA or El Segundo, CA. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Participation on collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and support application software.

Coordinating with multiple programs to ensure a stable product line base that supports multiple products.
-
Maintain a backlog to plan and track progress of feature development and issue resolution.
-
Collaborate with customer and user community to incorporate user feedback.
-
Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support.

Technical Leadership of a software team, ownership of software product providing an innovative solution that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
-
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
-
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
-
Typically requires 8+ years of work-related experience with Software Engineering, in particular with the skills listed.
-
Experience with designing and implementing a large scale modularized, reusable product base that supports multiple products.
-
Software development experience with C, C++, or related languages.
-
Experience leading a software team, Scrum Master or similar.
-
Willingness to travel occasionally to support system integration and test, customer events, and related external activities.
-
Demonstrated ability to work well with other team members, teammates, and disciplines.
-
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Current and Active DoD SECRET or higher clearance on day one of employment.

Experience leading a software team, SCRUM Master or similar.
-
Experience with Git, Visual Studio Code, JIRA, Gitlab, Docker, Kubernetes, Boost, GCC compilers, Open CL, Open GL, and CUDA on GPU platforms.

Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development Methodologies.

Experience developing and integrating OMS-based architectures.

Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Network Communications, Datalinks and Platform Integration.

Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related field.

Ability to work on site regularly (60%) for lab integration and team collaboration.

The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. The salary range for this role is 103,000 USD - 215,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
