WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Connectivity Product Owner at JLR, you will play a crucial role in defining and delivering our connectivity product roadmap. You will be responsible for shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of our connectivity products, ensuring they meet customer needs, industry standards, and technological advancements. Your expertise will span various connectivity technologies, including eSIM, 5G, WiFi, Sigfox, Satellite, mobile edge computing and wide area networks.
A Principal Technical Product Owner working in JLR’s Connectivity group needs to be a genuine advocate for our Always Connected ambition enabling a wide spectrum of connected services across the business. You will need to be customer focused, driven to deliver experiences our customers and consumers will love, while also having the experience to collaborate with different stakeholders from across the business. An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results in a complex environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Strategy and Planning
- Define and communicate the vision and strategy for our connectivity product portfolio, aligning it with your customer’s strategic goals.
- Define metrics to measure success.
- Define product priorities and align across related Product Set’s, PO’s and teams.
- Draft key objectives, benefits, acceptance criteria, expected results and delivery strategies.
Leadership
- Act as an ambassador for your product-family internally and externally
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure product development and delivery align with the defined strategy and roadmap.
- Play a key role in developing team culture and spirit.
- Metrics and reporting to senior management.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers, collect feedback, and use customer insights to drive product improvements.
Technical
- Gather and document detailed product requirements, user stories, and use cases, ensuring clear and actionable specifications for the development team.
- Define product acceptance criteria and work with validation teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and security.
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements and ensure product compliance.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver high-quality connectivity products.
- Assist the architects and engineers in mapping out the systems required to deliver the technical capabilities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience, integration, and dependencies.
- Able to collaborate with all stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product including senior executives.
- Set out and agree the product iterative and quantifiable steps with stakeholders (MVP)
- Experience in product management or product ownership, with a focus on connectivity technologies.
