As part of the xHEV ICE Calibration Department within Powertrain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our engines meet best-in-class attributes while maintaining robust diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities  

  

  • Calibration and validation of OBD II and OBM engine software to meet legal, service, and departmental requirements for JLR current and future engine applications. 

  • Deliver components of the OBD II calibration and On-Board Monitoring, with a focus on gasoline exhaust aftertreatment, ensuring full validation and robustness.  

  • Compliance with a comprehensive set of OBD II standards and targets across global markets (e.g., NAS, EU, China, Brazil) through optimized calibrations.  

  • Timely delivery of OBD II and OBM calibration and validation tasks according to defined deadlines, supporting Calibration Leads and Product Owners to ensure calibration maturity aligns with submissions.  

  • Utilisation and development of calibration methodologies, tools, and modelling to streamline calibration efforts and reduce time to market.  

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED  

  

  • Detailed knowledge of OBD II and OBM calibration and controls, particularly in gasoline exhaust aftertreatment.  

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver calibration and validation for electronic control systems.  

  • Proficiency with PCM supplier mechanizations and experience using ETAS INCA/MDA and AVL CRETA engineering tools.  

  • Experience in vehicle-based calibration delivery, including environmental testing in both field and simulated conditions.  

  • Up-to-date knowledge of OBD legislation requirements across all markets and familiarity with OBD Demonstration testing for certification sign-off
