Our (DT) Network Engineering team has an immediate career growth opportunity for a talented Principal Network Engineer in St Petersburg Florida.  You will be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.  The Principal Network Engineer will be a major contributor to a team that is responsible for:

-Designing, implementing, upgrading, and configuring hardware and software elements of voice and data networks as it relates to switches, routers, firewalls and encryption devices.

-Maintaining and monitoring network performance to ensure high levels of capability and effectiveness.

-Implementing various security controls and validating compliance.

-Writing technical manuals and troubleshooting guides that include operational instructions.

-Working closely with program engineers to help resolve networking problems in tactical environments.

*** This position is Onsite in St. Petersburg, Florida and Eligible for Relocation Assistance.

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years Network Engineering experience including advanced Cisco IOS experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

- Requires experience with IEEE cabling standards for both copper and fiber cabling.

- Requires experience analyzing, generating, and managing access control lists.

- Requires experience for network diagraming using tools such as Visio.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance prior to the start date, except in rare cases, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

***Occasional travel (10% to 15%) could be required.

EDUCATION: Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience OR in absence of a degree requires minimum 9 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications we value:

-Strong working knowledge of: Cisco IOS and Firewall configuration - Network protocols, EIGRP, BGP, PIM, Spanning-tree, Etherchannel, dhcp and dns - IP address planning and route summarization - QoS traffic shaping and policing - Metro Ethernet design and implementation - - Current or past professional certifications similar to CCNP certification with Cisco -

Experience with:

Cisco ACI as well as Cisco Datacenter switches

Network performance monitoring and troubleshooting

STIG/NIST compliance on Cisco routers

Configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices

Classified computing

Technical writing using MS Office applications like MSWORD and Visio

Active DoD Secret Clearance
