The Principal Manufacturing Engineer (ME) hired for this position will work in the Cabin Integration business unit of Collins Interiors where we work various interiors programs for customers, ranging from simple products in single-digit airplane quantities, to complex products covering dozens of airplane quantities.
This role is eligible for relocation.
This ME will be tasked with designing the appropriate industrialization approach for building and delivering these various interiors programs by working with Engineering and Operations to ensure:
- Production ready engineering designs
- Well-planned and executed development schedules
- Proper design and selection of tooling, equipment, and processes for production of the given program and strategic development steps into future capabilities for future programs
- Proper design and execution of production development and support processes
- And execution of the production from the first unit through the completion of the contract
- During and after the production of a program, this ME will also ensure a closed-loop communication of cost and capabilities data to the contracts department for their use in the bidding process of new contracts.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of Aerospace manufacturing experience
- 5 or more years of Experience with developing production systems for new product
- 5 or more years of experience in project management
- APQP Experience
- Lean Enterprise such as Lean Six Sigma of DFSS

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
