Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for Principal Engineer, Software Engineering in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is a hybrid position that requires working in the Cedar Rapids, IA facility at least 2-3 days per week and allows working remotely from home up to 3 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops, coordinates, and conducts complex tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Liaises closely with other project team members in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software to ensure smooth operations on software engineering activities.
- Recommends changes in the selection and application of software production components to improve and develop software engineering activities.
- Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and function.
Required Qualifications:
- At least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and at least 8 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer (or related role) in Embedded software development.
- At least 8 years of experience with DO-178B/C processes
- At least 8 years of experience with Device driver and C library development
- At least 8 years of experience with C/C++ and Python languages
- At least 8 years of experience with requirement writing, both high and low level, test cases and test procedures development
- At least 8 years of experience with Avionics embedded software development
- At least 8 years of experience with Software Verification
- At least 8 years of experience with Hardware Software integration on an Avionics platform
- At least 2 years of experience with LynxOS 178 operating system
