Pratt and Whitney is a global, diverse and innovative technology company that is moving fast to create the future of aviation. The Survivability Discipline Group which is part of the Military Engines Systems Engineering Organization, is seeking a Principal Radar Cross Section (RCS) Engineer to be a part of our world-class design team.  Team members work on multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams to design, develop and integrate state-of-the-art jet engine technologies into next generation platforms.

This position is located onsite at our East Hartford, CT business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Computer Aided Design using tools such as Siemens NX.
  • RCS analysis using Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) Software tools.
  • Design Optimization and Trade Studies using High Performance Computing (HPC) Technology.
  • RCS Test at various test facilities in the US.
  • Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have broad knowledge of project management.
  • Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8+ years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience with CAD, MS Office.
  • Effective Communication Skills (verbal/written); able to work effectively on teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Active US DoD security clearance required; SECRET or higher.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience with CEM / HPC.
  • Desire for continuous learning and innovation.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
