Job Summary:

The Digital, RF and Power Products Team is seeking an Electrical Engineer II with strong PCB layout skills to join our team as an ECAD designer.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Responsible for printed circuit board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing including library part creation, schematic capture, component placement, routing, gerber / ODB++ file creation and all documentation using the Mentor Graphics toolset.  Designs include PCBs as well as flex assemblies and rigid-flex assemblies.

Responsible for interfacing with electrical, mechanical and producibility engineering disciplines to ensure that the overall design requirements are captured and accomplished. Job responsibilities will include providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

An understanding and wide application of technical theories and concepts in the field of PCB design and manufacturing is required.

Candidate will be expected to begin design tasks on day one.

This position is an onsite role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other relevant degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR, in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Experience with Xpedition environment and/or equivalent software tool suite

  • Typically having experience with at least 4 of the following:
    o    placement 
    o    routing 
    o    use of the auto-router 
    o    constraint manager 
    o    xDM and/or xDM Library Client and/or equivalent library

  • Experience in PCB design skills using the Mentor Graphics and/or equivalent design toolset

  • Experience with multi-layer designs with HDI technology and/or high-speed routing including DDR circuitry

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to the start date is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret DoD security clearance

  • Da_lms experience, Board Station with use of Librarian, Layout and Fablink is highly desired.

  • Mechanical design skills sufficient to be able to understand and interpret complex mechanical drawings as they relate to PCBs

  • Use of BluePrint to create complex PCB drawings.

  • Skills in Mentor's Library Management System

  • Working knowledge of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques and overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging design is required

  • Export manufacturing data of both Gerber and ODB++ and use of Design Rule Checking software

  • Must be able to develop technical solutions to complex problems through use of ingenuity and creativity with minimal supervision

  • Candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work autonomously while establishing schedule and priority needs

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a team environment

  • Previous leadership or mentoring roles
