Job Summary
Raytheon located in Richardson Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class team as a Database Administrator. In this position you would be familiar with creating, updating, and managing Postgres databases and the code that interacts with them.
This position is an onsite role: Richardson, TX
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
-
Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions
-
Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of experience.

Experience with Postgres Administration
-
Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems.
-
Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
-
Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements
-
Security+ Certification
-
Active and transferable TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with other database products such as Oracle and MongoDB is highly desired
-
Highly preferred 3+ years relevant experience in Postgres Administration
-
Highly preferred 6+ years’ experience developing and supporting Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) solutions
-
Highly preferred 8+ years’ experience providing database development/project support in compliance with database design standards
-
Highly preferred 6+ years’ experience troubleshooting issues with database instances, DR, replication & backups and eliminating root causes thru systematic problem management practices
-
Highly preferred 3+ years’ experience ensuring database security controls meet internal & external audit & compliance requirements

Working knowledge of J2EE architecture and an understanding of object-oriented modeling languages.

Working with Java developers on database data access layers
