Job Summary:
Raytheon is looking for a candidate to join our world-class team as a Principal Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Software Engineer. In this role, you will work with data scientists to develop, integrate, scale and test containerized microservices based on high performance algorithms and applied analytic techniques, and mentor less experienced junior engineers.
This position is located onsite in Richardson, Texas (Cityline)
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Opportunity to use your understanding of data science, software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object Oriented architecture.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
- Ability to pass polygraphs and obtain program access.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of engineering experience.
- 6+ years' experience developing complex software applications with Java, Scala, and Python
- 2+ years' experience with Analytic Frameworks such as Jupyter, Data Bricks, Spark, Esper, and Chronos
- 2+ years' experience with Event Driven Architecture and Microservices
- 2+ years' experience with container software such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
- Experience with Data Science techniques such as classification analysis, regression analysis, anomaly detection, clustering analysis, game theory, etc.
- Experience with Agile and DevSecOps toolsets such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, and Cucumber.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security+ Certification.
- Experience providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies.
- Proven problem solving and analytical abilities.
