What does the role look like?
This is a key leadership role within the Military Value Stream, Aftermarket business at our Wolverhampton facility. The Operations Manager has the responsibility for the day-to-day production and delivery processes.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
- Ensuring key business deliverables are met and exceeded, including OTIF, productivity, OEE, budget adherence etc.
- Driving world class manufacturing / machining methods across your team
- Working with the module support staff to develop employees into future leaders.
- Liaise closely with external and internal stakeholders to ensure good communication is established and common goals agreed.
- Identify and drive efficiency improvements. Focus upon waste, direct labour/machine efficiency and through-puts
- Improve Value Stream performance by executing lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kanban, SIOP, 5S, and Kaizen while maintaining focus on Quality improvements.
- To create and maintain an environment that encourages and supports change while maintaining compliance and protecting the business

- Experience of Lean manufacturing / six sigma is beneficial.

- Outstanding organisational skills to oversee coordination of projects across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with flexible dedication towards meeting business objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Essential skills:
- Proven experience in Precision Machining
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
Desirable skills:
- Engineering Degree qualification preferable
