Summary:

The Operational Excellence (OpX) Leader will lead the Isothermal Forge (inclusive of HMI Metal Powders) business’ operational excellence activities by devising and executing strategies and processes to achieve best-in-class safety, quality, delivery & cost performance for all site activities.  This includes development and execution activities in the Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence)/Lean disciplines. This is a highly visible role at the site, interfacing with leadership across organizations and functions.

The Operational Excellence (OpX) Leader will also drive manufacturing modernization initiatives, such as Automation, Connected Factory, New Technology introduction, Capital Deployment and Model Based Manufacturing & Inspection. The Operational Excellence (OpX) Leader will be an integral part of the site leadership team and will drive strategic initiatives while ensuring we meet the site’s deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

  • Embrace LEAN/Continuous Improvement Operating System (ACE) and thrive in a highly visible and dynamic setting while providing clear and crisp communication with plant leadership, peers, and direct team.

  • Coordinate the combined strategic and tactical efforts of Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, CORE, Training, and War on Cost; streamline and optimize the operational aspects to deliver superior value stream performance in safety, quality, delivery & cost

  • Work across the entire facility and coordinate with Pratt & Whitney at large supporting all programs into the future

  • Promote a work environment which encourages engagement and empowerment at all levels; provide leadership and direction to the operations team setting both near term, and long term operational and strategic objective; collaborate with support teams taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities

  • Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly and ensure full involvement in CORE continuous improvement initiatives

  • Role involves travel up to 25%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 14 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment or other industrial group with similar manufacturing processes or a Master's Degree and 12 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment or other industrial group with similar manufacturing processes

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)

  • Leadership skills with direct supervisory experience of a large scope

Additional Information:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
