WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This exciting role supports the team in delivering the electrified powerpack NVH attribute for all vehicle applications, working on all aspects of electrified powerpack NVH design, development and delivery from initial concept design to series production. The team’s primary role is to develop the NVH knowledge about Electric Drive Units (EDUs) in order to support the new technical challenges. The team works from component to vehicle level to deliver the NVH attribute using, rigs, noise test cells and vehicle testing and with the NVH simulation team who provide the virtual development tools.

The role focuses on developing the NVH knowledge and recommendations for EDU structure and covers. You’ll work in cross functional group to ensure the standard consider the interactions between commodities, test and simulation.

 

Flexible and adaptable, you’ll be able to manage a number of workstreams simultaneously, with your involvement from detailed technical work to high-level programme overview.

The ability to manage complex technical issues will be essential to balance the often-conflicting needs of the business within project timing constraints. A confident attitude complemented by both verbal and written communication skills to report technical issues across all levels.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop the NVH recommendations and targets for EDU structure to control their contribution into the overall EDU NVH attribute.

  • Develop the NVH recommendations and targets for EDU cover to measure their contribution into the overall EDU NVH attribute.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including NVH simulation, NVH test and Electric Drive Unit commodities to investigate NVH recommendation and targets through testing, analysis and design reviews.

  • Contribute to the NVH requirement definitions for EDU structures and covers.

  • Lead continuous improvement in NVH processes, tools and techniques, use and develop department standards, requirements and procedures.

  • Work as part of a team and lead with component & test engineers, CAE engineers and suppliers to conduct NVH work.

  • Contribute defining the appropriate tools and processes, to investigate NVH issue enabling a rigorous analysis

  • Communicate and report out results and deliverables, conclusions and next steps at appropriate forums both internal (Powertrain / Vehicle) and external (suppliers), to senior level in the business.

  • Embed Agile framework into everyday ways of working including stand-up, sprint retrospective, backlog refinement and showcases. Define and deliver MBI’s and Stories to manage workflow in Group Sprints, escalate and resolve issues using Agile tools and methods.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential:

  • Proven background and ability in NVH measurement and data analysis using industry standard instrumentation and tools (e.g. Bruel & Kjaer, LMS).

  • Proven ability to collect, analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions, determine next steps, report and present work.

  • Proven planning, organisation and effective communication skills both oral and written at all levels of the business.

  • Proven experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving.

  • Can work on their own, as part of a team, and lead a team where required.

  • Experience of product development systems and processes.
