Job Summary:

The Antenna & Microwave Products Department is seeking an engineering leader based in Dallas, Texas with responsibilities having significant impact, recognition, and growth in the organization. This is a great opportunity for an experienced System, Process, or Chief Engineer.

The position requires specific domain knowledge of the Radio Frequency Components and Circuit Card Assemblies, the Advanced Product Center factory, and proven leadership skills to effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams to improve program execution. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading our technical operations for the Next Generation Jammer Program and collaborate closely with Operations Program Management and various enterprise-wide engineering teams to ensure the on-time delivery of quality products and the reduction of costs. The individual will collaborate with the NGJ Program IPTL to drive manufacturability while meeting customer requirements and work on-site daily with production teams and the APC Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead all engineering operations within the manufacturing plant, ensuring the effective and efficient production of radio frequency components and circuit cards for the Next Generation Jammer Program.
  • Collaborate with Operations Program Management and other engineering teams across the enterprise to align manufacturing objectives with the company's goals to deliver quality products on time.
  • Leverage deep technical expertise to drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking always to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve deliveries.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of production processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and program compliance.
  • Direct the engineering team in resolving manufacturing and production issues to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Participate in design reviews with the Next Generation Jammer Program, providing feedback and guidance to improve manufacturability and while meeting quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with and leverage the knowledge and skills of engineering teams and individuals across the entire organization to drive manufacturing success.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and project status to both executive leadership and manufacturing technicians.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Ability to work on site in a class 8 cleanroom

Qualifications We Value:

  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing cost reduction initiatives and driving operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization, from executives to manufacturing technicians.
  • Ability to draft and deliver program and customer briefings.
  • Demonstrated experience in RF Systems Engineering, leading multi-disciplinary design teams using management best-practices and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) to deliver compliant on-time / on-budget solutions. 
  • Domain knowledge of The Advanced Product Center factory, system engineering, design, test or materials and processes in one or more of the following areas:  arrayed antennas, RF Circuits, beam-forming architectures, power and thermal, and beam control firmware / software.
  • Domain knowledge of AESA systems with design, test, or materials and processes experience in one or more of the following: systems engineering, arrayed antennas, monolithic microwave integrated circuits, radio frequency (RF) modules, beam-forming architectures, structures, power and thermal, and beam control firmware / software
  • Prior experience as a system or materials and process engineer, including demonstrated ability to effectively organize and lead multi-disciplinary teams through structured systems engineering, integration, and test activities, and detailed task planning to achieve on-time / on-schedule task execution.
  • EVMS certification
  • Experience in the execution of work products including detailed program plans, statements of work (SOW), schedules, budgets, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and Estimated at Completion (EAC)
  • Principles of Systems Engineering (POSE) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) certification
  • Systems engineering experience including the drafting of artifacts such as specifications, procedures, and CDRLs.
  • Experience leading proposal activities
  • RF Test Equipment, MATLAB, DOORS, HFSS, SystemVue, Model-based Systems Engineering
  • Ability to break down barriers
  • Hands on engineer
