Job Summary:

The Next Generation Fighter Engine team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced project engineer to join its team as an affordability, EV, and product cost focal. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to deliver program affordability goals, drive product cost reductions, and create and maintain an EV system for the program. This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, suppliers, and customers.  You will need to be technically proficient, communicate effectively and be customer focused. Experience in design, manufacture, development, product cost is preferred. There is less than 10% travel associated with this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Affordability Program Manager and work closely with the CIPTs to drive generation and execution of cost reduction initiatives.
  • Define and assess program affordability targets.
  • Manage a team that is responsible for monthly Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting and compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 10+ years of design, manufacture, development, product cost experience; or Advanced Degree with 7+ years of design, manufacture, development, product cost experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing projects.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to execute work independently, make decisions,
  • A basic understanding the P&W Leadership Operating Model (LOM).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams, as needed, and when/where to get help.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management and experience working with customers.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills as well as focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of engineering and program management.

On-Site: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
