Job Summary:

The Mechanical Systems Engineering (MSEN) 30K Thrust Class Product Family, Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) is responsible for cross-functional activity on Mechanical Systems hardware for the PW1100G base program and GTF Advantage development program.

The Deputy CIPT Leader (P5) is a critical leadership role within the CIPT.  This individual must be able to coordinate functional requirements from the program, various engineering disciplines such as aerodynamics, mechanical design, systems, structures as well as manufacturing, assembly, aftermarket, and customer organizations.  The Deputy CIPT Leader will work closely with the CIPT Leader, Discipline Leads/Managers and Integrated Product Team Leaders (IPTLs) to set priorities and ensure technical, financial, and timely execution of all CIPT tasks.

Qualified candidates are technically competent with a strong customer focus, are able communicate effectively upwards and downwards, and able to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently.  This role is a challenging and rewarding career development or broadening opportunity for the right individual looking for a career in Engineering.  This critical position should be viewed as a steppingstone to future larger leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and improve upon the CIPT Leadership Operating Model across Mechanical Systems to meet program objectives

  • Empower and grow the CIPT members

  • Ensure CIPT & MSEN strategies are created and executed on time

  • Implement Agile and CORE within the CIPT

  • Collaborate across CIPTs

  • Manage financial performance to budget / PVO

  • Manage CIPT waterline and priorities

  • 10% Travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in Engineering, Project or Program Management OR an Advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree preferred

  • Aerospace and/or Aviation industry experience

  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of complex mechanical systems

  • Programs and/or project management experience preferred; PMP certification a plus

  • Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (i.e., SAP, EVMS, Teamcenter)

  • Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement principles and tools (i.e., LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma)

  • Ability to engage cross-functional teams and know when/where to get help

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and management

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels

  • Prior team leadership experience, and willingness to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
