As a Modeling and Analysis Systems Engineer you will apply and develop simulation-based methods and technologies for the design and verification of complex systems. You will also thrive on tackling challenges, as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills in a hands-on work environment to address problems and implement appropriate design or process changes.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

What YOU will do:

  • You will perform model-based design theory (abstract interpretation, static and dynamic analysis) and work with modeling and simulation environments, solvers. 
  • You will perform model management, model transformation, model, and modelling language and simulation (multi-formalism, hybrid simulation and co-simulation). 
  • You will create code in C and C++ and be expert on at least one of the two to construct enabling modeling and simulation tools. 
  • You will work with Models of Computations (Synchronous languages, State Machines, Discrete Event, Hybrid Systems, etc.) and with modeling languages and approaches of networked distributed systems aspects (networks, computation, and hardware platforms).

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (Computer or Electrical) or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2-8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6-12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Skills you must have:

  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • 2+ years of Software engineering experience, C and C++ programming languages.

Skills we value:

  • Avionics communication networks technologies (e.g. ARINC) and architectures experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in,
    • Modeling approaches and analysis of networked embedded systems, focus on full-stack communication networks (protocols and radio technologies)
    • Measuring the performance of a networked system, performance evaluation techniques and performance measures or metrics.
    • Modeling and simulation tools such as Transaction Level Modeling (TLM) paradigm, Register Transfer Level (RTL) and modeling languages such as SystemC, MTW SimEvents, NS3, VHDL and Verilog
  • Basic knowledge of Software Design Principles and Software Architecture
  • Experience with Python and Java programming and ideally have experience with EMF and Eclipse technology.
