Job Summary:

We are seeking an innovative and talented Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to a team responsible for maintaining and operating a high priority operational system at a high level of availability.

The candidate must have the ability to be a technically minded problem-solver, be able to focus on the task at hand, follow through on the prescribed plan, and the ability to be flexible and think under pressure.  The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and have a meaningful desire to learn and have a team player attitude.

Other duties include providing inputs to CONOP development, RFCs, and future baselines/capabilities. Responsible for carrying pager (approx. one week every two months) and responding to anomalies.

  • This position is an onsite role – Aurora, Colorado

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide support to Mission Planning function.
  • Develop and maintain scripts/web tools.
  • Conduct software analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Provide integration and test support.
  • Identify process improvements and software enhancements. 
  • Coordinate with other internal and external engineering teams.

Basic Qualifications: 

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Significant knowledge of structured programming with the ability to troubleshoot and update.
  • Exceptional Communication/Presentation skills (PowerPoint).
  • Advanced Project Management experience.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Teaming experience.
  • An active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software skills/Web development skills (PERL, JAVA, HTML/XML, C++, SQL, Wiki, JavaScript, MySQL, Linux.)
  • Knowledge and experience with Mission Planning system.
  • Knowledge of Software Development processes
  • Test experience
  • Understanding of baseline development and delivery process

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
