Job Summary:

The Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) department is looking for a seasoned and passionate microelectronics assembly Engineer working around Raytheon’s industry leading RF technology. To succeed on this role, you must be an efficient and effective communicator with peers, management, but most importantly with engineering customers. You will need to exhibit strong ownership and accountability and be committed to schedule and goals while managing fluctuating workloads on daily basis, and in short and long term. Your subject matter technical expertise is highly valued, as well as your individual contributing leadership and your teamwork spirit. You will work closely with a team of multi-disciplined engineers to build microelectronics prototypes and document assembly processes, in particular, Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs). You will interact with internal customers, as well as internal and external suppliers to review tradeoffs to meet the needs of project owners. You will work alongside another senior engineer and be a mentor to lab technicians and more junior engineers around our two prototyping labs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Own prototyping jobs in the assembly labs, be a doer, a project manager, and a team player
  • Relentlessly interact with a cross-functional team of module designers, layout engineers, project leads, and manufacturing crew
  • Communicate various scenarios and diligently follow through, review tradeoffs and assembly improvement suggestions to the design and manufacturing community, stay committed to schedules and goals
  • Manage lab equipment’s maintenance, calibration, and upkeep, and support lab audits
  • Mentor and train more junior teammates so they are able to utilize lab assets when needed
  • Advocate resource capabilities, present on symposiums, enable opportunities from inside and outside home business unit

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically a Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of experience or an advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of packaging/assembly experience in semiconductor field
  • Experience with manual and auto wire and ribbon bonders, die attachment, solder reflow, wet and dry cleansing practices
  • Experience with automated die and SMT component placement tools, automated adhesive dispensing tools, screen printers
  • Translate information from schematics and mechanical design documents
  • Tool setup and configuration programming skills on equipment as mentioned
  • Be passionate in microelectronics assembly and packaging field and be a strong communicator
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
