Job Summary:
P&W Asheville Quality is looking for a CMM Programmer to provide Inspection Solutions for the Module Center. Asheville manufactures Blades and Vanes for multiple commercial and military engine programs. Our team is often called on for their expertise in programming, CMM installations, metrology solutions, and system networking related to CMM. Occasional work related to other PW locations worldwide may be requested.
Note; Relocation packages or assistance will not be offered or considered. This Position will train on 1st shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming CMMs, writing analysis scripts for CMM and non-contact inspection devices, especially for closed-loop machining environments.
- Occasional direct measurements of artifacts/parts in the Metrology Lab. Development of production-ready solutions using newer sensor technology on complex geometries.
- Ensure product and process compliance by providing CMM Inspection solutions per our quality systems and requirements.
- Integration of automated measurement & test equipment with highly automated manufacturing cell and information systems
- Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with Module Center departments in including other Quality and Manufacturing personnel.
- Support day to day Module Center deliverables and initiatives related to CMM inspection. Drive product and process improvements that ensure Module Center’s quality metric goals are met.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years CMM programming experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
- Technical Knowledge of CMM Programming software (e.g. PC-DMIS, Camio, CMM Manager)
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years in the aerospace industry
- Aerospace industry experience
- Specific skills include a mix of : MODUS, PC-DMIS and/or CALYPSO CMM language, analysis software such as GOM, POLYWORKS and/or GEOMAGIC, and other helpful software such as PYTHON, R-STUDIO, MINITAB, NX.
- Familiarity with REVO Multi-sensor technologies is a big plus.
- Knowledge of GD&T per ASMEY14.5, calibration systems per ANSIZ540.3, airfoil geometry
- Measurement system evaluation (gage R&R, methodology review, correlation studies, etc) in support of Manufacturing Readiness Levels, PPAP, and Process Control
