Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is growing! We have an immediate opportunity for a Metrology Engineer. Duties will include the application of measurement science methodology principles and the performance of related analyses while creating, revising and releasing calibration procedures that certify that the calibrated measurement and test equipment meets the required contractual and Government standards.
This position will facilitate and coordinate the activity across all RIS Mission Areas supporting multiple program areas and sites across the business. The Metrology Engineer provides in-depth technical and procedural advice for repair, calibration, and modification of a wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized for assigned programs.
This position is located in El Segundo, CA.
This hybrid position will work primarily on site, however, occasionally will allow for work from home a few days a week dependent on program needs, with management approval.

Required Skills:
•Minimum of 8+ years of experience working with engineering, manufacturing, operations.
•Ability to analyze and evaluate Hardware and Software test requirements and specifications to determine proper equipment specifications and Calibration levels.
•Familiarity with Metrology related concepts such as traceability, measurement tolerance/uncertainty and calibration intervals.
•Knowledge of ASNI, NCSL Z540 and ISO 17025 standards
•Draft final reports and present in the appropriate mode to meet the customer needs
•Requires basic mechanical aptitude including ability to read and interpret dimensions, tolerances, and assembly notes
•Understanding of basic problem solving skills, including statistical analysis, and ability to use these tools to drive root cause identification and problem solving
•Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, highly organized.
•Systems and database management, reporting, monitoring and resources
•Work with multidisciplinary teams
•Support Engineers, Operations and Programs to help meet deliverables and timelines
-Ability to access US only data systems.
Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of managing projects, timelines or deliverables
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
•Familiarity with laboratory rules and operating procedures
•Assist program, functional, and business management in making informed decisions regarding supportability process, analytical, and testing methods/strategies
•Previous Metrology Engineering and Test equipment experience
Required Education:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
