Summary:
Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for a Metallurgical Engineer to support its organization.
Key Responsibilities:

The Metallurgical Engineer will conduct testing and material investigations within the Columbus Forge manufacturing facility
-
The Metallurgical Engineer will serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with engineering, customer service support, and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes
-
Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities; work with various quality issues related to internal non-conformances, product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests with clear and concise reports to customers

Be available to work any & all shifts, including an alternate work week

Undergo and pass annual vision screening
-
Review engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials science or metallurgical environment or an Associate's degree and 4 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials science or metallurgical environment or in lieu of a degree, 6 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials science or metallurgical environment

Experience working with internal and external customer requirements to resolve findings

Understand and interpret engineering technical data to provide guidance to cross functional teams

Knowledge of document control and calibration systems; query data from database systems
-
Experience interpreting manufacturing drawings
-
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Preferred Qualifications;

Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Metallurgy or Engineering
