WHAT TO EXPECT
Working within the JLR factory at Solihull. A key role supporting operations by providing a Mechanical Service ensuring repair work and routine maintenance minimises downtime, always putting safety first. Planned maintenance and repair work will involve mechanical systems, gearboxes, motors, pumps, compressors and hydraulics.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:
- Carry out and improve where possible departmental planned maintenance programme by ensuring that the work schedules are completed on time
- Monitor plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance and define and implement strategies that drive improvement
- Monitor product quality and quantity information and formulate Continuous Improvement actions
- Promote continuous improvement, whilst implementing improved maintenance methods.
- Ensure all relevant health & safety documentation and equipment (PPE) are adhered to
- Support the TPM autonomous maintenance programme.
- If necessary, must be able to change shifts at short notice and work overtime at short notice, also work from adjusted start times.
- Application of lean manufacturing techniques and working practices
- Working at Height & Confined Spaces
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge and Experience
- Good experience in mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Good knowledge of Centrifugal and screw compressors
- Good knowledge of site wide speed doors
- Good knowledge of various Heating and Ventilation Systems
- Previous experience in Manufacturing
- Good knowledge of gearboxes, chain drives and hydraulics
- Good knowledge of pneumatics
