General Summary:
We are seeking a self-directed and highly organized mechanical engineer to work on our facilities team. You will be engaged in projects involving both the physical facility and research projects on our 500,000 ft2 campus in East Hartford, CT. You will be responsible for interpreting customer desires and technical requirements, engineering viable and cost-effective solutions, creating detailed drawings and specifications for all trades, sourcing materials and labor to accomplish required tasks, project and contractor management, scheduling, and day to day problem solving and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to subject of work (i.e. IPC, IBC, IMC, NFPA, B31.1, B31.3, OSHA, etc.)

Knowledge of trades means and methods (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, automation)

Adherence to General Industry and Construction EH&S standards

Ability to add key knowledge and insight into Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessments

US Citizen; ability to obtain a government security clearance

Familiarity with MV electrical distribution systems
Educational Requirements:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program in addition to 8 years industry-relevant experience

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a
minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
