Role Overview:

This job position is in Configuration Management as a Master Technical role at our Collins Aerospace, Lenexa, KS business unit division. Role would be an opportunity to perform direction for technical/business support in the Engineering Department. Leads and guides the Configuration Management team with daily documentation objectives. Problems faced are routine and not difficult.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports and works with the Configuration Management team focused on maintaining steady workflow and productivity in several aspects of engineering documentation duties to include drawing release, data entry, & change management.
  • Assisting in the development, compliance and maintenance of configuration management company standards and processes. Creating updates where necessary to improve effectiveness for the organization.
  • Maintain of data items within a Product Life Management (PLM) system.
  • Review and approval of configuration management documentation standards.
  • Follows and understands company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Execute Change Review Board (CRB) and Change Implementation Board (CIB) meetings.
  • Collaboration with Engineering staff, other internal department staff and customers.
  • Support internal and external audits regarding Configuration Management processes.
  • Review of design documents for data accuracy within a process workflow.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management/change management metrics.
  • Ensures department practices and procedures are followed by Engineering staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct experience with specialized knowledge of technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Team Center is a plus.
  • Knowledge of working with a PLM data base management system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools; word, excel, outlook E-mail.
