Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting Design Engineering requirements on the shop floor. You'll support all aspects of production of existing designs, as well as implementing and integrating novel materials and approaches for manufacturing of Anti-scatter grids, Ceramic cores supporting turbine airfoil and component production. TOMO Direct Metal applications.

This position at Mikro Systems (subsidiary of Pratt & Whitney) in Charlottesville, VA. The work associated with this position will be onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and improves products and facilitates manufacturing operations.
  • Identifying and implementing new manufacturing processes and associated equipment.
  • Monitoring product yield and cost and driving improvements to both.
  • Supporting MRL progression of all products.
  • Supporting LRIP and transition from design and development phases into production phase.
  • Reviewing designs, drawings, and working plans to improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Provides technical leadership and assists in training less experienced engineers to help them diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.
  • Implementing process certification methodologies into all processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering , or related degree and a minimum of 8 years of engineering or other relevant experience
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Ceramic and metal powder experience in the production of product. Ideal applicant has experience with epoxies and molding/injection molding experience.
  • Familiar with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools
