ISR & Space Systems Houston is looking for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its Manufacturing Engineering Organization. The position is the focal point for the execution of daily activities to deliver high quality, highly engineered development and production hardware on-time to its customers. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering effort in tasks ranging from requirements planning through the manufacturing and test of equipment to produce deliverables in support of NASA and DoD Programs. Applicants must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of an Integrated Product Team. It is essential the individual be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Primary Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes utilizing lean philosophies and techniques

Support manufacturing and testing of space flight hardware through designing, documenting, and producing assembly and test equipment for production

Development of detailed assembly instructions and manufacturing process procedures.

Prepare annual operating budgets for the team.

Plan and forecast manpower requirements to support the program and business plans.

Monitor daily/weekly/monthly team WIP

Implement improvement initiatives with the function and program levels

Oversee training and development, performance appraisals, health and safety, and department productivity.

Promote lean activities as a form of continuous improvement.

Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.

Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and influence, advise and direct members outside the direct reporting structure to perform job requirements and meet deadlines

Excellent people management skills including delegation, promoting teamwork, and performance management

Self-starter with a positive attitude who can work at setting priorities while multi-tasking to meet various deadlines on short notice

Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to all organizational levels and cross-functional groups

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years (or Master's with 3 years) of related experience in Operations, Manufacturing, or Engineering; specific focus on manufacturing engineering preferred

Must be a U.S. Person

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology, MBA, or Advanced engineering degree is desired

Team and / or Project Leadership experience

Experience with Project Management preferred

Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement
