Position summary: 

To support all pre braze assembly and process activities in the core build area on a daily basis including; jig, fixture, and tool design, cleaning, brazing and heat treatment processes. The position requires close team work with shop floor operators working with technical drawings and operation books. Regular liaison with quality, design and purchasing departments is also required to ensure production outputs for all value streams are achieved.

Occasionally the Manufacturing Engineer will be required to carry out tasks outside their normal reemit and hours so flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

    Creating and maintaining work procedures including SOP’s and Operation Workbooks
    Production and updating of jig & tool drawings using CAD
    Integration of process improvements
    Management of controlled builds
    Manage and co-ordinate quality corrective actions
    Support pre braze team in the use of CORE & ACE Tools
    New Product Introduction (where applicable)
o    PFMEA
o    PRS
o    MRL 
o    Tooling / Fixtures
o    Production readiness / control
    Non-conformance analysis
    Sourcing of new process equipment as required.
    Investigate and troubleshoot quality/technical issues.

Previous desirable experience 

    Working with production operatives to address technical assembly issues 
    Able to read working drawings and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
    General workshop inspection techniques
    Introduction of new and improved processes to enhance production throughput.
    Some knowledge of heat treatment and or vacuum brazing processes.
    Although the role is predominantly desk based, an ability to be able to demonstrate practical hands on manufacturing experience.

Preferred Requirements:

1.    Qualified to HNC/HND/ Degree Standard or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
2.    Good communication and organizational skills.
3.    Conversant with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
