Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is based in Bangalore, India and is engaged in the development of advanced aerospace and aviation technologies and software products. We have an immediate opening for a Manager – Software Engineering to lead multiple teams developing digital solutions related to Application Engineering. This position will report to the Engineering leader of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Digital Aviation Solutions group within BIETC and work closely with stakeholders across the globe.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain relationships with global stakeholders and work closely with them on planning, forecasting, execution, and delivery.
  • Manage organization level budgets, schedule, and overall performance standards across multiple projects.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are addressed in an efficient and timely manner. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Review plans' execution, make appropriate adjustments, and resolve issues.
  • Forecast resource needs and make hiring decisions. Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback.
  • Make compensation recommendations in regard to hiring salaries and salary review actions. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc...
  • Convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project, or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers, and customers.
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
  • Provide direction and guidance to support the advancement of tools, processes, procedures with incorporation of industry best practices.
  • Lead and deploy agile methodologies and other industry best practices across software lifecycle development.
  • Lead organization level initiatives and coordinate activities across multiple engineering capabilities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Build and lead a highly engaged and motivated team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree is required as a basic qualification with 13 to 16 years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated Software Engineering experience with involvement in all phases of the software development life cycle using various software development platforms.

  • Domain Driven Design:Good understanding of domain driven design to influence and direct the team as needed.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing projects and customer milestones, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring timely delivery of products and capabilities.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree and 14+ years of related work experience OR Master of Engineering and 12+ years of related experience.
