Manufacturing & Test Engineering Manager Job Description:

Qualification: Engineering Degree in Electronics & Communication.

Experience:

At least 12+ years of working experience on complex production programs.

Experience in electronics production is desired.

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Knowledge on Digital, Analog & power Electronics Technology concepts, Schematics understanding, Knowledge on PCBA manufacturing process and Hands on experience on Electronics product testing and circuit card level Debugging / Failure Analysis. Test Equipment development and Automation knowledge.

  Key Accountabilities:

Provide leadership and coaching to a team of Manufacturing & Test Engineers to ensure effective flow down and delivery of business and Manufacturing Engineering objectives.

Maintain and/or govern Production Technical Packages and key deliverables to achieve Operational and Functional objectives.

Technical Authority for the manufacturing & Test Engineering, accountable for the Method of Manufacture and compliance to Design Intent.

Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.

Integrate Capability achievement and Product Introduction activities into the production environment.

Manage Manufacturing & Test Engineering load/capacity plans and relevant budgets.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business.

General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.

Led projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing & Test Engineering processes.

Has experienced manufacturing change in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.

Has provided technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers.

Setting up the production facility including capital planning and facilities execution.

Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing process to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.

Ensure Engineering team and other cross functional departments work together cohesively.

Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the maintenance, tooling, and engineering departments, facilitate efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.

Responsible for the development of test equipment’s to aid in the manufacturing process, which creates the next generation innovation.

Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements.

Manage Manufacturing Engineering & Test Engineering team in the day-to-day performance of their jobs,

Focus on process improvement during the product assembly & test by Fully/Semi low-cost automation to reduce product cost & Improve product quality.

Work with Engineering and customers for proposed change and develop relationships that influence customer satisfaction.

Accountable for all communication with customers and coordination between Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, production, and other functions to ensure all Engineering requirements are met, produce quality products, on time and within budget.

Establish budget for Manufacturing and Test Engineering requirements and manage overall program surveillance.

Coordinate and direct activities necessary to fulfill schedule, quality and performance, commitment i.e manufacturing support, Quality Assurance support, tooling, and test equipment.

Report necessary corrective action in problem areas.

Use trend and performance related process yield data to determine risks and develop mitigation plans.

Negotiates and incorporates changes into control systems to maintain program requirements.

Conduct After Action Reviews and apply lessons learned into future plans.

Leadership capability that collaborates across the manufacturing factory areas including, production engineering teams, engineering teams, quality leaders, internal and external customers, stakeholders, and direct reports.
