Summary:

The Machining Cell Leader -2nd Shift supervises entry and intermediate professional level production employees and sets day-to-day goals. The Machining Cell Leader -2nd Shift manages cell productivity and guides scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize production.

2nd Shift Hours are Monday – Thursday from 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet business metrics goals as defined for each cell (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Environmental Health and Safety, ACE/CORE {Customer Oriented Results and Excellence}, Employee Fulfillment)

  • Implement root cause corrective actions in a timely manner to ensure quality standards are maintained Implement ACE/CORE and Lean strategies to improve quality, reduce process time and reduce operational costs Ensure that all employees adhere to environmental, health and safety (EH&S) procedures

  • Identify and resolve process improvement opportunities to enhance quality, decrease process cycle time and reduce operational costs

  • Supervises activities for materials and logistics problem resolution for multiple cells or a complex cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations; guides production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for multiple cells or a complex cell to enhance production capabilities

  • Interfaces with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of service

  • Coach employees in team development and motivational strategies; mange all aspects of assigned hourly workforce

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, production, program/project or quality environment or an Associate's degree and minimum 4 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, production, program/project or quality environment

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 1 year of leadership experience
