WHAT TO EXPECT

 

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Lead Systems Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Body Systems and Software Domain. Within this Domain, the Human Machine - HMI Interface team has been expanding its role and remit as part of a new electrical architecture platform for subsequent deployments for JLR car lines.

 

As a Lead System Engineer, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team which are responsible for the structural and behavioural definition of HMI functionality for current and future vehicle architectures. You will support the generation and maintenance of the architectures in model-based engineering tools (Catia Magic Systems), and systems engineering requirements in the Traceable Requirements Management system - TRM and ensure that artefacts meet the required quality standards for content and traceability.

 

This individual will be instrumental in orchestrating a new Service Orientated Architecture - SOA cockpit controller module, which is undergoing development and underpins the future strategy. This has led to an expansion and a need to bolster the existing Systems engineering and architecture capability to specify and support the end-to-end in-house software development for HMI features and products.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead architectural model definition and delivery for the allocated Product against requirements for Efficiency, functional safety, cyber security, scalability, performance and availability
  • Ensure that system requirements for the assigned Feature / Capability have been defined and reviewed, on time and with acceptable quality
  • Ensure that the assigned Product/System has been analysed from a Failure Mode Analysis, Functional Safety and Cyber Security perspective
  • Responsible for delivering the system architecture/ sub-system/system/feature or software being developed to meet the business requirements on time with appropriate quality and at the right cost
  • Is responsible for leading the creation, peer reviews, releases or cascades of System Engineering Artifacts for their Subsystem/System/Features

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Relevant experience in system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
  • High proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools and techniques, including SysML / UML, ideally Catia Magic System of Systems Architect, or Enterprise Architect / Rhapsody / Simulink
  • Experience in developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans
  • Broad understanding of a range of different vehicle electrical systems and architectures
  • High proficiency in requirements definition and requirements management tools, ideally Traceable Requirements Management - TRM system
