WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You will be joining an ever growing part of JLR in the EDS Industrialisation department. You will ideally come from a strong EDS background and have previous project management experience as well as have a good understanding of 3D Experience/Catia V5/6. In this role you will have the chance to lead vehicle programmes, be involved in the vehicle build coordinating the commodity when it gets installed in the vehicle and much more.

 

As an EDS Lead Engineer, you will join an already very capable and dynamic team responsible for design maturation, development and delivery of the EDS commodity into a range of JLR vehicles. Being part of this team, you will coordinate and lead cross functional teams across the organisation to deliver the EDS commodity for your allocated vehicle programme. Your contribution will be key to success of the vehicle programme in meeting Cost, Weight, Timing and Quality targets and your coordination of Validation activities will ensure robust designs and products that meet our Quality targets.   

 

 Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Leads and coordinates delivery of the EDS commodity including geometry, cost, weight, quality and functional performance.   

  • Wiring harness manufacturing knowledge.

  • Identify key EDS standards and design requirements.

  • Lead DFMEA and Design Validation activities for EDS.

  • Knowledge of 2D / 3D wiring harnesses geometry, change control, product definition and change management processes are desirable in order to support the review of feasible product actions.

  WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • Technically capable in all areas of the EDS commodity ranging from key component selection, EDS architecture and Harness topology,

  • Sound understanding of High Voltage installations, specifications and standards

  • Experience of project and/ or programme management.

  • Strategic thinker willing to develop their role for the progression of the commodity.

  • Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of failure mode avoidance and problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma, 8D and DMAIC.
