Job Summary:

The Rotating Detonation Engine program requires a Project Engineer to lead one of its IPT's in developing groundbreaking propulsion technology. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with maximum exposure to the Chief Engineer and executive leadership. Working to tight deadlines, the ideal candidate maintains grace under fire and exhibits the ability to motivate a multidisciplinary team to accomplish industry firsts. Proven project management skills, including an aptitude for good planning, will be required to create and maintain Level 3 schedules and budget plans. Demonstrated leadership ability to guide the team to meeting deadlines and delivering on objectives within the allocated budget is a prerequisite. This position provides the unique opportunity to quickly convert concepts into testable rig designs, following the Agile philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position will provide project management to an Integrated Product Team (IPT) made up of design, structural, durability, aero, materials and manufacturing engineers. 

  • The teams are tasked with developing, advancing and validating new technology for future product insertion. 

  • The Project Engineer will work with the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets and risks for specific IPT tasks. 

  • The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the IPT and managing the team's execution with a strong focus on the development supply chain.

  • The position requires excellent communication and team leadership skills as well as the ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering.

  • 8+ years of engineering experience or 5+ years with an advanced degree.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, budgets, and schedules

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and trending skills

  • Knowledge and experience with Project Management toolsets (e.g., Agile, SAP, Primavera, or MS Project)

  • Understanding of robust technology maturation through proactive risk management.

  • Hot section gas turbine component and/or module level experience

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. CORE, QCPC, Process Certification)

  • Master’s degree or MBA a plus

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
