Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineering Professional to support our F135 Engine Core Upgrade Diffuser, Combustor and Turbines team. Selected candidate will be responsible for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress, assessing risks, developing solutions, managing hardware and test related items, and forecasting budget/schedule performance. The selected candidate will execute project management activities for the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be accountable to the CIPT for tasks progress and execution.  The selected candidate will coordinate with other functional organizations to facilitate project tasks and ensure alignment with overall project objectives to improve both team and product performance. Qualified candidates need to be able to effectively work with a team of diverse individuals to achieve goals, technically proficient, communicate effectively, and be customer focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and maintain Level 3 schedules for rigs in support of F135 ECU design and validation activities.

  • Ensure cross discipline integration to define test objectives, instrumentation, and test plans for turbine rigs.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for rig vendors through the manufacturing, build and testing phases to ensure successful completion of test objectives.

  • Order and track delivery of rig hardware.

  • Provide recurrent status updates to CIPT and SIPT.

  • Create, submit, and revise, as applicable, Test Job Requests (TJRs) or equivalent requests to support rig test.

  • Identify rig testing risks and monitor execution of burndown plans.

  • Work with the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets and risks rig testing activities and execute Military EVMS activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering.

  • 8+ years engineering experience or 5+ years with an advanced degree.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace.

  • Demonstrated experience in design, manufacture, development, validation, rigs testing, and procurement activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management

  • Engineering experience with hot section gas turbine components

  • Certified Control Account Manager (CAM)

  • Knowledge and experience with Project Management toolsets (e.g., Agile, SAP, Primavera, MS Project, DOORs).
