Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is looking for a highly motivated Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader to support our F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) HPC Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT).

The experienced engineer in this position will provide team leadership to an IPT made up of Project, Design, Structural, Aero, and Systems engineers supporting development, procurement, and First Engine to Test of Pratt and Whitney's F135 ECU High Compressor.  The IPT’s will ensure all program milestones are met for Preliminary Design, Detail Design, and First Engine to Test (FETT) specific to the Cases hardware and will work with the CIPT to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets for specific IPT tasks.  The leader will represent the IPT as the primary focal point to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead IPT / supplier resources to meet technical milestones and hardware delivery requirements
  • As Scrum master and Product owner direct activities of Project, Design, & Structures Engineers assigned to the part family using Agile
  • Plan & manage task budget and schedule in accordance with program negotiated deliverables to meet all F135 HPC ECU project milestones
  • Prepare and present task status, EV status, and technical content to the CIPT and Compression Systems Engineering management
  • Review and process Class 1 & 2 engineering changes to include risk identification and mitigation, validation plans, and design review presentations
  • Coordinate evaluation and disposition of quality non-conformances (QNs), Discrepancy Reports (DRs), and supplier requests for information (SRI’s)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with  8+ years of project engineering experience OR
  • Master’s in Engineering or MBA with 5+ years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated successful experience using Agile
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Prior team leadership experience  preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and execute several components of complex tasks
  • Trained CAM & Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAP a plus
  • Ability to operate across a wide range of disciplines and management levels with both internal and external customers to ensure that task requirements are met.
