What does the role look like?

We are searching an MRO Configuration Control Engineer for Torino plant.

The position will directly report to the Secondaries Value Stream and AFM Engineering Manager of Torino Site. Within his/her role, the candidate will be in charge of supporting the management of the configuration control activities related to the technical maintenance documentation produced by the Engineering and used in the MRO departments, interacting directly with the other Engineering teams and the internal customers.

The MRO Configuration Control Engineer organizes, order and keep active the control of the configuration of the maintenance products and associated technical documentation to support and guarantee the up-to-date documentation used for the maintenance of all Legacy products maintained in Collins Italy sites.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?. 

  • Create an inter-dependent database containing all the technical maintenance documentation produced by Engineering and used by Operations and Customers
  • Map new processes and update exiting ones relative to the issue, management and release of all the technical maintenance documentation produced by Engineering and used by Operations and Customers
  • List and define all the items to be controlled by the Engineering for the configuration of the technical maintenance documentation
  • Create project schedules for all the activities required to harmonize and digitalize the control of the configuration of the product under maintenance in terms of official documentation.
  • Follow all set of standards defined by civil and military authority which regulate the continuing and continuous airworthiness
  • Organize all the data set available and map the new data set for the continuous control of the technical documentation produced by Engineering and used by Operations and Customers
  • Support the technical interface to Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and all other departments during revision and check of the technical maintenance documentation
  • Support all the activities regarding preparation, maintenance, update and release of the Technical Maintenance Documentation used by Engineering, Operations and customer in accordance with internal procedures, configuration management, manuals and standards
  • Support the schedule management of the Technical Maintenance Documentation release, liaising with all the functional areas and dealing with customer to guarantee the on-time-delivery of the documents
  • Follow all set of quality standards and engineering principles and best practices, direct instructions for manuals, assembly instructions, testing and troubleshooting

What will you bring to the role?

Desirable skills:  

  • Engineering degree (Aerospace, Mechanical or Management preferred)
  • Fluent English
  • Capability to understand engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Ability to organize and execute tasks.
  • Good capability to set-up processes and write procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and strategize for process optimization
  • Good use of Microsoft Office Tools (Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, Power Point)
  • Preference for selection: Knowledge of Aerospace principles, Knowledge of Mechanical Design, Excellent use of Visual Basic, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Good use of Visio and process mapping tools, Engineering experience preferably in an aerospace development environment, Understanding of aerospace product development.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision from management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
