WHAT TO EXPECT



As an Infotainment Engineer, you will be part of the creation and expansion of centrally managed, bookable and remotely accessible ‘rig farm’ test assets. 



The role requires strong programming/IT skills and ideally a knowledge in vehicle electrical, electronic systems. The individual will support with the creation and maintenance of new infotainment rigs remote access system to align with JLRs new electrical architecture. 



You will support all areas of infotainment and infotainment partners including, integration, navigation, component owners and external partners with collaboration with other teams across JLR, constantly seeking process and design improvements to provide our customers with world class test and integration platforms.  



Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities



•    Development and management of the Programmes used to remotely access the Gaydon Rig Farm. 

•    Addition of test assets to JLR networks for JLR internal, partners and external customer use

•    Lead collaboration between JLR rigs team and network team to implement their network solution for the test assets.

•    Support rig farm strategy rollout in other global locations.

•    Pro-actively assist in creation and refinement of activity procedures, tools and databases with the Rig Team, which are easy to maintain.

•    Provide oversight and foster built-in quality along with promoting team and technical agility.

•    Share knowledge to upskill team members.



WHAT YOU’LL NEED 



Knowledge, Skills and Experience



•    Programming experience in Python and general scripting knowledge

•    Working experience with at least one automotive bus (Ethernet, CAN)

•    Good working experience with use of automotive bus monitoring & simulation tools such Intrepid, Vector etc. 

•    Experience in developing user interfaces, databases and clear process documentation.

•    Knowledge and familiarity of advanced diagnostic techniques, network management and associated software packages (ASL. CORVUS, CANalyser, PICOSCOPE etc).

•    Strong MS office knowledge to include developer skills, visual basic, macros.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement qualities
