WHAT TO EXPECT

 

JLR is looking for a Hydraulic Technician to join our Brakes Engineering Department. You will be part of the Brakes Engineering Department that has responsibility for the design and release of Foundation brakes, Modulation & Transmission systems. You will have complete emersion within Chassis and Braking systems, working on the production line to have hands on approach and to investigate and problem solve when needed.

 

Within this the Hydraulic Transmission has responsibility for the design, development, sign off and production implementation of Brake Pipes, Brakes Hoses, Pad wear warning and Brake Fluid.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • The Hydraulic Technician Build & Launch Support Engineer support the delivery of the technical and gateway deliverables on all JLR Brakes programmes.
  • You will be in attendance for Design build confirmation – Virtual and physical build events at multiple locations.
  • You will be investigating build issue problems, clarification and reporting back to the team.
  • To design, build and configure corner rise and fall rigs – for design definition or verification.
  • Liasing with UK & CEI off shore team, build teams and supplier base contacts

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential:

 

  • Knowledge of automotive Chassis and/or Brake systems.
  • Technical project management experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to confidently present issue status reports to Gaydon Design core team, Suppliers and if required Programme/Launch teams.
  • Comprehensive ability to work with MS Office applications and manage large numbers of records in different formats. Able to handle and process necessary measurement/test data to draw robust conclusions and recommendations.
  • Strong time management and planning capability, managing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
