Job Summary:
Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer (P3) to join the Advanced Engine Programs – Diffuser/Combustor and Advanced Technologies Structures team. This position will provide opportunities to apply your engineering and leadership skills, as well as bring your creativity to bear in the conceptual and development phases of the design cycle. This role offers opportunities for advancement to become a future leader, with visibility throughout the leadership chain, internal and external.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis to support preliminary and detailed design, development testing and validation, certification, delivery support, and post engine production & service support.

Use FEA and classical methods to evaluate strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, and creep.

Monitor Diffuser/Combustor health during engine validation testing (engine and rig), perform test data-reduction and analysis, and confirm test objectives are met

Participate as an active member in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance key metrics such as performance, cost, weight, and durability.

Author substantiation documentations, as well as create and present effective technical presentations to internal and external customers.

Work to advance new technologies, create patents, and improve engineering standard work processes and methods.
Basic Qualifications:
-
BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

5+ years of engineering experience, OR an advanced degree in engineering with 3+ years experience.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Active Security Clearance

Structural analysis experience in gas turbines within the Aerospace industry

Proficient in ANSYS APDL/Workbench FEA and NX Design software

Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
