Job Summary:

The HSE Methods organization, located in East Hartford, CT, is looking for a Web Application and Cloud practitioner to join  our Methods team. This role will be responsible for working as a practitioner on the development, deployment, and support of next generation web applications and data analytics platforms to support our Engineering Discipline and Business activities in HSE and enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify technical needs within engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality AWS web applications for the engineering organization.

  • Working as part of a methods or IPT team to develop and support web applications.

  • Interface and collaborate with product stakeholders/customers to align on requirements, manage applications, and communicate progress.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation and user guides for applications.

  • Drive improvements in Methods processes and best practices using the principles of CORE.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

  • 5+ years engineering experience or 3+ years with an advanced degree

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Engineering or Software/Methods related field.

  • Experience with Python, particularly relating to backend development.

  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.

  • Cloud experience, especially with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or AWS Cloud practitioner, developer, or solution architect certification

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Experience with GitHub, Jira, and other code and product management software

  • Ability to think outside-the-box and develop creative solutions to technical challenges.

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
