We are currently searching for a Manager, Value Stream Leader for the Vision Systems Helmet Mounted and Head Worn Displays Product Line team located in Wilsonville, OR.  This individual will be responsible for management of all lifecycle phases of the military Helmet Mounted Display System (HMDS) programs.  This position will primarily be responsible for HMDS systems in production with supporting development projects for the product line and working with channel VSLs, CEVS Joint Venture partners and a diverse supply chain. A successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of success in a collaborative team environment.

Emphasis is focused on supporting program execution teams with a variety of activities such as: management of portions or entirety of program execution, financial reporting, customer interaction/action item reporting, subcontract management support, material status, customer deliverable management, risk and opportunity management, and all levels of coordination with the core program team. This position coordinates activities across the Collins shared services business model and requires collaborative working relationships with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Contracts, Supply Chain, Quality, and IPP&C (Finance) points of contact in various instances of onsite, hybrid, and remote environments.

Onsite role in Wilsonville, OR

Primary Responsibilities:

Focus on execution of in-production HMDS products such as the F-35 and JHMCS.  Work closely and collaboratively with the operations managers, planners, quality and supply chain team to ensure consistently high delivery and quality metrics. 

  • Work independently to:
  • Gather data from program and functional managers.
  • Gather, collate, analyze and maintain data to create metrics and performance information.
  • Lead product BEST teams which proactively assess risks, issues and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare status reports regarding project progress within unit; supports preparation of project reports for management clients, or others.
  • Challenge data accuracy and establish reasons for metrics outside anticipated parameters.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, issues and highlight such to stakeholders.
  • Manage distribution of data to agreed schedule to stakeholders.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
  • Present information and metrics to internal meetings.
  • Develop and maintain databases, plans, documentation, reports and presentations.
  • Undertake ad hoc information gathering, preparation, presentation and reporting as required.
  • Provides system or procedural advice to other staff to resolve problems.
  • Manage lower complexity programs.
  • Perform other duties to provide support to program teams to assist in achieving their objectives.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Typically requires: 

Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR  Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR  In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required  

U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SAP
  • Familiarity with Collins Management System (CMS)
  • External customer support/interface experience
  • Experience working within an Integrated Product Team
  • Knowledge of Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management and Reporting
