Primary Responsibilities:

The Hardware Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.

Provide education and knowledge on the use of quality tools in the administration of the Quality System. Apply quality engineering skills to develop and deploy effective and efficient methods for verifying and accepting processes and products, including the use of quantitative and qualitative tools.

The Hardware Quality Engineer will use analytical tools and methods to: improve product design; minimize inspection; solve fabrication problems;  complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses, and reporting; develop techniques and methods; support process improvements; complete special investigations and audits; take preventative and corrective actions; audit manufacturing and test data for Quality System requirements; support design reviews to insure that quality is engineered into the product; and develop product acceptance techniques and plans.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years professional experience relevant to Engineering or Quality including Auditing, Root Cause and Corrective Actions, AS9100/ISO900x experience.

  • Must have some experiences with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Project, etc.

  • Familiar with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing related documents.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate good communication skills and can work within a cross-functional team environment.

  • Familiar with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing related documents.

  • Familiar with and has some practical experience of Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, and DMADV) and or tools (e.g., ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis.

  • Working experience with AS 9100 quality management systems, and experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment, is a plus.
