The GTF High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Project team is seeking an experienced project engineer to support the team throughout the verification, certification, and Post-Certification phases of the HPC Programs. As the HPC validation engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the developing and negotiating validation plans, define and provide risk mitigation plans, support engines and rigs build/testing, conduct pre and post-test hardware inspection, and manage FAA Certification Documentation reports. The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, motivate others to share the goals and visions of the team, provide Technical Guidance, Empower the Validation team, and be able to effectively communicate to all levels of P&W and the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all funded tasks on-time and within program allocations as well as manage, prioritize, & execute configuration and validation requirements to meet customer and program goals
- Facilitate CIPT, PSC&V, and Program Office EDP Alignment to meet PW Verification and FAR33 Engine Certification Requirements
- Manage TJR, CICR, & EA Documentation to support Instrumentation Pre-Test, Test, and Teardown Inspection Documentation & Reporting
- Provide Validation Documentation for Pedigree, Test Readiness, and Flight Clearance Reviews
- Support Cross-Discipline Module Integration and Engineering Technical Requirements Coordination as well as Enable Alignment W/ Design Integration including ADDs, DECX, & Drawing Releases as well as support EDP SEV Technical Meetings includes EIPT, EDSIT, and SIPT and Coordinate HPC Module in-service/field issues
- Support Industrial Hardware Delivery through MRB process and support Module Assembly for development and production
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience OR
- Advanced Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of engineering experience
- U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
- Travel Requirements: up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry, and jet engines in particular
- Previous gas turbine compressor experience
- Project, Industrial, Validation, Manufacturing and/or Program Management experience
- Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Smartsheets, MS Project or other scheduling software
- The ability to craft clear communication and build positive relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
- Well-developed leadership skills and networking ability
- Knowledge of FAA Engine regulations and previous component certification experience
