WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Traction inverters are the heart of JLR’s electric vehicle programs. As Group Product Owner, you'll play a critical role in ensuring their successful delivery. You'll lead a team of 10-20 expert engineers across the entire design, development, and validation process, taking complete technical and product ownership from concept to launch and beyond. You'll be responsible for empowering your team to deliver the next generation of powertrains that will define JLR’s electric future.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • On-Time Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of traction inverters that meet stringent quality and cost targets. 

  • Effective Arbitration: Lead effective problem-solving, acting as a key decision-maker for internal and external issues. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (EDU, Powerpack, Controls, Cooling, etc.) to guarantee project success. 

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant suppliers, working alongside procurement and sourcing teams. 

  • Stakeholder Management: Champion the traction inverter group through clear communication and effective stakeholder management. Lead insightful presentations at Agile Showcase events. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • In-depth Knowledge: Possess an in-depth understanding of traction inverters and their role within electric vehicle architectures and platforms

  • Proven D&R Experience: Demonstrate proven experience in power electronics D&R within a relevant industry (automotive, marine, traction preferred). 

  • Delivery Expertise: Understand and implement automotive delivery processes and standards, including DFMEA and APQP. 

  • System Engineering Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of system engineering principles, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
